8th International Conference on IHCI-2016, Pilani, India, December 12-13, 2016

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Intelligent Human Computer Interaction, IHCI 2016, held in Pilani, India, in December 2016. The 22 regular papers and 3 abstracts of invited talks included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 115 initial submissions. They deal with intelligent interfaces; brain machine interaction; HCI applications and technology; and interface and systems. 


7th International Conference on IHCI-2015, Allahabad, India, December 14-16, 2015

The 7th International Conference on IHCI-2015 received 105 paper submissions and after a rigorous review process, 29 papers were selected for presentation at the main conference, including 4 special session papers. The conference proceedings were organized into five chapters corresponding to the five tracks of the conference: Signal and Vision based Interaction, Intelligent Methods and Interfaces, Modelling Human Cognitive Processes, Bio-inspired Computation Applications. The Signal and Vision based Processing track received six papers and one paper received the best paper award. The Intelligent Methods and Interfaces track received nine papers, Modelling Human Cognitive Processes received two papers, and Bio-inspired Computation received one paper. The Applications track received seven papers. Each paper was peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers, ensuring the selection of high-quality submissions.

The 4th International Conference on IHCI is jointly organized by Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and IEEE Kharagpur Section (Region 10), with sponsorship from various government organizations and private companies. The theme of the IHCI-2012 conference is "Advancing Technology for Humanity", with a focus on bridging the digital divide for underprivileged users and promoting accessibility for all. The conference has planned for participation from students, experts from industries and academia to share their experiences and knowledge. The conference has half-day workshop on "Role of HCI in Bridging the Digital Divide in Developing Countries" and a half-day tutorial on "Speech in Mobile and Pervasive Computing". A total of 224 submissions were received, with 47 from industries, 177 from academics and research institutions, and 195 from India. The papers were evaluated by an international advisory committee and were classified into 8 tracks: Accessibility, Interfaces, HCI Applications, Socio-Cultural Effect, Domain Specific HCI, Multimedia and Signals, Speech and NLP, and Theory and Models.
